Janitor

Key Work Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager of Events and Operations the janitor is responsible for janitorial duties and minor building maintenance duties. Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on various cleaning duties, assisting at times with the move out of residents and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Responds to emergency cleaning requests as required. Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required. Assists with set up and dismantle of meetings rooms.

Typical duties include but are limited to;

  • Vacuuming
  • Mopping
  • Wiping
  • Window cleaning (interior)
  • Bathroom cleaning
  • Composting
  • Garbage disposal
  • Office cleaning

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

 

Working Conditions:

This position is required to work in an integrated addiction services facility for adult men and women aged 19 years of age and older. The ability to function independently while managing multiple needs is an ongoing expectation of this position. Direct program activities may require a moderate level of physical fitness to effectively carry out the duties of the position. This is a daytime position with hours of work from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM  Friday to Tuesday, with hour long unpaid lunch breaks.

This position works in multiple buildings. Access to a car will be an asset. Mileage will be paid for work related driving during work hours.

 

Qualifications:

  • BSW Certificate and 1 year related experience or equivalent
  • Acceptable Criminal Record Check
  • Physician’s Waiver
  • TB Screen and Immunization Records
