JOB SUMMARY

Working within an integrated services management team combining clinical addiction, housing, employment and educational services, the Housing Manager is responsible for leading a continuum of housing services that range from housing first principles to abstinent based principles.

The successful candidate will lead all housing programs, which currently includes over 100 units of Transitional, abstinent based housing where the successful candidate can learn the practices and programs available to residents at the Phoenix Society. The Phoenix Society is also looking to extend its continuum of care to include high support Modular Housing later this year. This position is responsible for program planning and personnel management including scheduling, hiring and training.  The Housing Manager will ensure program budgets and contractual deliverables are met and maintained and will provide required documentation and reporting.

This is a full time position of 37.5 hours weekly with a Monday to Friday schedule. The successful candidate will be expected to take part in an on-call rotation and work a flexible schedule when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Position requires a university degree in social work or an equivalent field of study.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience within a housing framework
  • At least three (3) years’ work experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in Harm Reduction and Housing First practices.
  • Ability to apply trauma-informed practices to clinical care.
  • Strong collaborative approach to delivering and developing programs and services.
  • Proven communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Computer literate with experience using Office software and central data systems.
  • First Aid/CPR.
  • Criminal Records check for working with vulnerable populations.
  • An equivalent level of experience and education may be considered.
